Our friends over at River-Sea Chocolates are busy helping us hand-make as many new chocolate bars as possible. We fill orders chronologically (starting from the earliest/oldest orders). Our Frankenstein chocolate bar is inspired by the creature as well as the novel’s historical context. When he is abandoned by his creator Victor Frankenstein, the creature wanders the forest, subsisting on wild berries. We have chosen red raspberries to represent the bloodshed that transpires as the story progresses. Mary Shelley wrote her famous novel during the summer of 1816, the “Year Without a Summer.” The cold and rainy weather was caused by an acidic cloud created by a volcanic eruption, which obscured the sun and reduced global temperatures. Here, Icelandic lava salt represents the volcanic winter that inspired this gothic tale.

Ingredients: Cacao Beans, Organic Cane Sugar, Cacao Butter,  Organic Non-Fat Cow Milk, Raspberry Extract, Vanilla Extract, Lava Salt.
